The Lacquer Tray

In the latest issue of Elle Decor, Miles Redd gives us his short list of 12 things he can't live without. Number 9 is Trays which he says give order and clarity to clutter. At $30, these lacquerware trays I found in delicious colors from Caspari are gorgeous and so well priced you will want more than one. How would you use one of these stylish trays?

On a kitchen counter set up as a bar
For breakfast in bed
In the foyer for mail and keys
In the bathroom for makeup, toiletries, or perfume
On your dresser for jewelry
On your desk for supplies
To serve cocktails or dessert
On your ottoman

No matter how you use these, they are a chic Chinoiserie way to organize things with great style.

I am always on the hunt for beautiful trays. They can pull a collection or grouping of objects together so well. Love the blue/silver and the gold /black.

Um, I'll take one of each please. I'll take the robin's egg blue for myself, then give the rest as gifts!

Those ARE great prices...and Alison is right, they'd make perfect gifts! You always have such great finds....how do you come up with all of this?

Meg-I love Caspari paper products, but just discovered all the other things they sell. Fabulous!

Alison-They would be great for gifts. Check out the website-they come in square trays, bowls, etc.

Averill-Thanks-I have not seen such great colors and prices as these.

These are great! This would look wonderful in my new living room (to come - when I finally manage to move). Bookmarked! Just like the rest of this blog.

Lacquered trays are the LBD for the home....they make any day seem put together.

I literally use mine everyday. I swipe a big pile of cluttered papers on, top with a big fancy paper weight and forget about them until I have time.

Abby-What paper weights do you like? I love John Derian's.

Nice tray - there are some great color choices, as well. (the first being my favorite) We received a beautiful handmade set of three, but are stuck on finding the ideal storage for them. Thanks for providing some great ideas - When we are not using them for food, we can use them elsewhere throughout the house~

Michele-They are a great deal.

Grant-Hope the client likes it.

Sarah-Absolutely-don't store them, put them to use!

Caspari rarely disappoints. I keep a tray on our kitchen counter to keep the incoming mail & mailbox key's in order. Really do keep clutter in check!
