Chinoiserie Tablescape

This lovely Ruthie Sommers vignette is a great example of so many things we have looked at on Chinoiserie Chic-aubergine, Blanc de Chine, blue and white, and tablescapes. Perhaps it will inspire you. A couple of points to note-the aubergine was introduced with deep purple flowers-here hydrangeas. The collection of white porcelain is not all true Blanc de Chine. Ruthie has included white candlesticks and even some Lenox pieces.

I love this! That wall paper, with the beautiful chinois figurines, and then the small accent of the flower. Perfect!

my favorite Buddha here at my house is a sweet piece of blanc de chine: a Buddha as a boy, pointing upward as if to recite the old Zen adage, "the finger pointing at the moon is not the moon." you have really inspired me this summer o do something cohesive with all my chino, and get the dining room done once and for all!

I love this -- the wallpaper is whimsical and fun but still works with the blanc de Chine...and those hydrangeas are simply stunning!

Wow-- that wallpaper is such a showstopper, and definitely love the mix of aubergine with classic blue and white. Great vignette.
