The Pink Chinoiserie Foyer

This wonderful room from the July issue of House Beautiful is another perfect example of a pink Chinoiserie foyer. The entry was done by Jonathan Berger in Benjamin Moore Razzle Dazzle, a stunning and dramatic pink. Other elements of this space include a Louis XV needlepoint chair and console, an Italian mirror, and elegant Chinese porcelains. I love the large shell on the floor. I posted a couple of days ago on the natural affinity of Chinoiserie and shells. Check out these two previous posts of mine here and here on the two lovely pink Chinoiserie foyers pictured below. Note the color palette in all three rooms-a great pink on the walls, a palette of black, white, and gold, and then an accent color of either blue or green. Which is your favorite foyer?

That bright pink foyer is great!! Johnathan Berger did a fabulous job with this entryway and "Razzle Dazzle" is my new favorite color! The black glossy stairs adds just the perfect combination and I love the shell on the floor! Thank you so much for this post!

I really enjoyed this months's issue of HB, Beth. I may have to find a place to use that top photo paint color. Stunning!

Anne-It reminds me of the pink you used in your Porcelain Jar on Pink Canvas.

Allison-I'm glad you didn't. I personally don't care for one wall painted a different color. Save these wonderful pinks for a powder room, dressing room, or foyer, and do the whole room in it.

That first entry is breathtaking! I enjoy the bold look combined with soft accessories. The pink with the gloss black treads is fabulous! I also like the arrangements on the table - they are visually pleasing, particularly with the vase - is that a deer? it seems to be looking up perfectly at the beautiful flowers. I love every single detail here.

I'll have to go with number 3, even though that's not my favorite shade of pink - the blue and white, zebra, and gilt are such a fantastic combination.

I'm going to go with the Razzle-dazzle, now that's a foyer statement and a designer with nerves of steel!

Sarah-I agree-this is perfectly executed. The deer is thinking about how unhappy he is going to be when the cherry blossoms are gone.

Sanity Fair-I love this Mary McDonald room. That coral pink is a lovely color-it is actually more coral and less bubble gum than it photographs.

Sande-You really would be dazzled walking into that space.

My copy of HB is waiting for my return -- I can't wait to open it now!

[And I can't BELIEVE how good they've been this year. They're really trying to step up the "chic" factor.]

Averill-As much as I still miss Domino, I now love HB. Wait until you see the August issue-it is wonderful. Hope you are having a great time!

First time visit here - LOVE this picture.....love the pink...

BUT...question....what is Chinoiserie? Never heard of it and scoping out your other blog posts to try to find a distinction....or a definition...

BUT...whatever it is...I'm liking it...

I'll be back :-)
