The Chinoiserie Baby Shower

The Chinoiserie baby shower created by Mary McDonald as pictured in the May 2005 House Beautiful. Note the stunning color palette of pink, blue and white for a baby girl's shower. The blue and white Chinese porcelain and blue and white table linens keep it elegant and not too sweet. The invitations were lined in photocopies of Scalamandre's Chi'en Dragon.

What fun -- I'm planning a baby shower for a girl friend in September and I'd love to do something like this.

This is beautiful! Often, baby showers end up looking "too baby-ish" (if you get what I mean) This one celebrates a new life with flowers and a fun palette. I love it. I can imagine the lucky Mommy must have been thrilled :)

Averill - this would be great!

Mary McDonald is everywhere these days, and for good reason - she has fantastic taste. What a beautiful treat this shower would be for a soon to be mommy.

I'm a little behind in my reading this week; somehow I missed this post. What a nice little treat to happen upon; I am so in love with Blue&White. Do you know much about picking out the good stuff? I'd like to start a serious collection!
