One of the prettiest restaurants anywhere is the BG restaurant at Bergdorf Goodman in NYC designed by Kelly Wearstler when she was still designing great spaces. It's one of my favorite spots for lunch. The two best features of the room are the de Gournay wallpaper and the custom French canopy chairs. I was delighted when I received the Jayson Home and Garden spring issue to find their very well priced version of the canopy chair in burlap, hand-rubbed black mahogany, and antique brass nailheads for $1,895 and free shipping. (The ones used by KW start at about $7,000) Wouldn't a pair of these and Chinoiserie wallpaper create the most beautiful dining room? The Jayson version is pictured just below. The other photos are at Bergdorf's.

They have a great set of these chairs in Sassanova. Love them! xx
Gorgeous! Am totally loving those!
Have you seen the Restoration Hardware version of this chair? I can't wait to see it in person!
I love a chair that encloses you and makes you feel like you are being hugged - I think this chair must fit the bill on that!
Would love a pair of these at the head and foot of my dining table.
I just love these chairs--and they are so glamorous at BG--good find!
Love this fun and funky chair!

I love these chairs too!!
I love it how you qualified your statement with "when she was still designing great spaces". Hillarious!
And 7K, are you serious?! How much do they charge for coffee at that eatery? No kids allowed, I am sure.
Fun fact: did you know that the "Capucine Chair" - capucine is french for hood - was used during the Louis XIV period for the King and a guest to have a conversation on the other side of the room from the people who would pay to watch the King eat, sleep or whatever. If you have a pair of these and face them towards each other, you can whisper and be clearly heard in the hood of the other chair. I had a pair of these in my shop last year wih a gold/foil-ish patina, burlap, rusted nails and vintage velvet. Loved them so much I had to take them home. Will be putting them in the den, in front of a fireplace with O&L Summer palace wallpaper in red. Yum! Had lunch at the BG cafe in Jan. with the woman who should have been my mother and it was delightful. Sat in the chairs. NICE!
Karena-Beautiful room. I prefer her older work like this.
Starfish and Sundresses-DC or Bethesda?
Scandinavian Chic-They are so dramatic.
Things That Inspire-I think this one is more elegant than the Restoration Hardware.

Hampton-A great combination of cozy and glamorous.
Cristin-It is fun.
La Dolfina-Thanks.
The Shiny Pebble-No kids in restaurants is a wonderful idea.
