I love how the formality of the Chinese ancestor portraits and the Chinoiserie cabinets are made more casual by the choice of the Cowtan and Tout Eaton Check fabric. The living room is by Michael Smith, as featured in House Beautiful.
Beautiful yes, but spooky because the chinese make offerings to ancestoral paintings, so not something I would want in my house, unless they were my my relatives!

A friend of mine has two of these portraits on either side of her entry. They are great, look great and are antique so they carry a history.
