Goodbye from Chinoiserie Chic

This Ruthie Sommers dining room was the subject of my first post back in May of 2009. Since then, I have had 747 posts and great fun. Unfortunately, as a result of time issues in my busy schedule and the fact that I have frankly run out of Chinoiserie things to post about, I have decided to call it quits. Thanks to everyone for your loyal support of Chinoiserie Chic. I hope I have been a source of inspiration in adding some wonderful Chinoiserie to your homes. Until we meet again.

  4. This has GOT to be the MEANEST April Fool's joke EVER played in the blogosphere! Beth, if I thought this were true I would have to go back into therapy!!! Who you kiddin'??? You are NEVER going to run out of Chinoiserie stuff to write posts about. You might drop down to 1 or 2 posts a week but NO WAY are you putting away your keyboard! Nice try, darlin'!!!!

  9. I hope this is an April Fool's prank Beth. Although I don't leave a lot of comments, I read your blog every morning, and given that it's the only one of its kind, it would be a big loss to the blogging world if it disappears.

  10. No, I don't believe you for a moment. This is definitely an April Fools Day joke. Still, it makes me a little queasy to consider what my morning would be like without you. Yours is my first, and favorite, blog of the day. Thank you for all you do.

  11. No freak'n way! If I hadn't already been pranked by Vitania over on Verdigris Vie I'd have fallen for this...and been so sad.

April Fools has been fun today! It feels like when I was a kid :) TY!

  12. I read this, then a few minutes later it hit me -- this has got to be an April Fools joke! Who could ever run out of things to say about Chinoiserie?

  13. Oh my gosh, my heart just sank. I discovered you a few months ago and you are now my first stop in the morning. Thankfully I read the comments and I choose to believe this is an April fools joke!

  14. WHAT!!!! NO DON'T GO! You were the very first blog I discovered..I so hope this is an April fools joke. You are like permanently etched in the blogging hall of fame in my book, like one of the "founding fathers" of blogworld, like a grand social doyene of bloggers, do I make my point? i can't imagine seeing my sidebar without your name there!! I look forward to my daily dose of chinoiseire and no one does it like you do...say it isn't so!

  16. Only tomorrow will tell us if this is an April Fool's joke or an ironic ending to a prolific and stylish reflection on all things Chinoiserie. I know which one I am hoping for...See you?

  17. I literally felt a pain in my heart when I read this. I am banking on this being April Fool's debauchery. You are my first stop every morning and after stumbling on your site last summer I literally redesigned my whole dining room to become Chinoiserie. I was finally able to pinpoint my design style thanks to this wonderful blog. Please never leave us!!!!

  24. This is my first time posting with you, but I found your blog and adore it. The first thing I'd like to do is to thank you for creating such a lovely place to share chinoiserie ideas, and the second thing I'd like to do is to beg you to reconsider leaving. Your blog is gorgeous and very inspirational. Would you even consider posting once a week? Pretty please?

    XO,

    Sheila

You have been a huge inspiration - at worst, just one or two postings a week? PLEASE, you haven't even shown us your finished dining room!
