These gorgeous vintage bone pagodas were on Mary McDonald's Tastemaker Tag Sale yesterday on One Kings Lane for $1,499.00 for the pair and of course sold. I hope it was a follower of Chinoiserie Chic who got them!
I have really enjoyed all the pagoda inspiration you have been sharing with us recently. Have you seen the Pagoda Bar at the Langham Hotel in London. I think you can check it out at http://rohiniscityguide.wordpress.com
I hope to get there some day to soak in the atmosphere. I wonder what the perfect chinoiserie cocktail is? Any suggestions from you and your readers?
Oh, if I ever make it to London I am definitely going there! As to a chinoiserie cocktail...the easy answer is a Singapore Sling, but I would suggest either a champagne cocktail or a gin fizz...
Chinoiserie Cheep and Gretchen - I adore the Artesian Bar and did a post on it on my blog Style Redux. A great idea for my pagoda series - I will post on it tomorrow along with THE answer to the best Chinoiserie cocktail with the recipe. Stay tuned.
Oh, what I wouldn't give to be able to tell you that I was the lucky gal who purchased these two gorgeous pieces...unfortunately, by the time I made it to the "party" these were long gone! Woulda been SOOOO nice, though!!!
I logged in to the Mary McDonald OKL sale at the moment of opening, and in time to get the pagodas. Alas, they were not in my budget. However, I did score a delightful blue and white double fish vase, which I now eagerly await. Perhaps you saw it.
I grew up in Europe and Lake Forest, Illinois. After graduating from The Ferry Hall School, Bryn Mawr College, and George Washington University Law School, I practiced law in Washington, D.C. Now I am finally devoting my time to two of my great passions - interior design and Chinoiserie.
Please visit me at my other blog Style Redux-a blog about great style in fashion, interior design, and a bit of everything else. It may be vintage or new, budget or designer. It's all about living a life of style.
