Chinoiserie Chic Christmas - Setting the Table DIY

This stunning Chinoiserie room with its beautiful de Gournay wallpaper was done by Martha Angus. She then used scraps of the wallpaper (bottom photo) covered with plexiglass for a beautiful DIY holiday table. Clear contact paper could also be used to protect the paper from spills. I have leftover Chinoiserie wallpaper from projects and would love to try this to create my own Chinoiserie placemats.

You could also laminate the paper, for a more durable finish than Contact paper. I might even be inclined to use 3 layers of paper - 2 with the wallpaper (or other printed paper), with a piece of white paper sandwiched between them. Laminate both sides, and you have reversible placemats. Just a thought. :)
