Saturday Inspiration - The Pink Chinoiserie Dining Room
Soft pinks abound in this dining room by Ruthie Sommers with pink background hand painted wallpaper, chair fabric, and china. What do you think of the windows left bare?
Hmmmm......maybe she just wanted to let the walls have center stage. If I indulged my weakness for beautiful flowing silk drapes it might have been "over decorated"....I don't know....I will always defer to the lauded professional...! If I could locate that mercury glass vase on that side table I would own it TODAY!
I grew up in Europe and Lake Forest, Illinois. After graduating from The Ferry Hall School, Bryn Mawr College, and George Washington University Law School, I practiced law in Washington, D.C. Now I am finally devoting my time to two of my great passions - interior design and Chinoiserie.
Please visit me at my other blog Style Redux-a blog about great style in fashion, interior design, and a bit of everything else. It may be vintage or new, budget or designer. It's all about living a life of style.
