What do we think about the green checked/gingham shades on the blue and white Chinese lamps? Not sure I wouldn't have gone with white or perhaps a solid green silk if I wanted to pick up more green. Thoughts?
This is a very interesting approach...certainly not the "safe" one. I am trying to remember the name of a designer who's blue & white porcelain lamps in his living room have vibrant green shades...Joe Nye, perhaps...I need to search out the picture I am remembering so I can find out for sure. Because I LOVED the green shades on those lamps and thought what a bold and amazing choice they were! Happy St. Patrick's Day to you, Beth!
I grew up in Europe and Lake Forest, Illinois. After graduating from The Ferry Hall School, Bryn Mawr College, and George Washington University Law School, I practiced law in Washington, D.C. Now I am finally devoting my time to two of my great passions - interior design and Chinoiserie.

Yes, Joe Nye did use a green lampshade on one of the lamps in his living room. Great memory!
