Are you bold enough to use a dramatic Chinoiserie wallpaper? Then why not go all out and paper the ceiling too for even greater impact? By the way, speaking of impact, do any of you hate the new love affair with the non-existent word "impactful" as much as I do?
I love these rooms...instead of seeming oppressively over-patterned, they draw one in and feel amazingly fresh. As for "impactful," it is annoying, yet not as much as the constant use of "perfection" to describe rooms, pieces, and anything else someone likes a lot. Grrrrrrrrrr.
I love these rooms, especially the powder room. And THANK YOU for the "impactful" comment. Someone needed to say it: "impactful" is not a word, people.
I grew up in Europe and Lake Forest, Illinois. After graduating from The Ferry Hall School, Bryn Mawr College, and George Washington University Law School, I practiced law in Washington, D.C. Now I am finally devoting my time to two of my great passions - interior design and Chinoiserie.

Ok that beautiful midnight blue velvet on the chairs in the Maison 140 photo is what I dream about having on a couch!
Gorgeous images, Beth! The second image is amazing. Appears to have an infinite space.
Happy Tuesday.

These rooms are so gorgeous! I can't decide if I'd like to really have all that paper in my house or not. I suppose one has to try it to know!
