The Chinoiserie Dressing Room

Jewelry Designer Stephanie Lake
I am an absolute sucker for a beautiful dressing room and this is absolutely killer. Can you find the Chinoiserie touches? They include a Chinese Chippendale mirror, a turquoise foo dog, a turquoise Chinese man figurine, a turquoise lacquer box, a blue and white Chinese porcelain vase used as a container, a Chinese wooden stand, and my favorite, a dragon above the window. Speaking of the window, check out the gorgeous silk taffeta window treatment all corseted up like a ball gown. I adore the dark walls and the pale blue leather slipper chair, vanity, and vanity chair. The modern rug in purple, orange, and white is a fabulous and unexpected touch. A touch of leopard, of course. Quite a Mary McDonald vibe here. Thanks so much for the head's up from Ellen of Color Calling that this is the vanity of jewelry designer Stephanie Lake featured in Decorati.

OH-to live that life. My favorite the dragon over the window and that to dye for mirror.

It is all so lovely, but I have never seen drapery tied up like that. I think that it is a brilliant solution for so many drapery issues. Panels too long, wide, uneven hemming...it would all be hidden by this treatment. Not to mention the fact that looks impeccable.
