Gray always needs a color to bring it to life. Since gray is the hot neutral now, this is a great example of using a shot of color in an all-gray room.
I love the restraint in this room. The floor pattern statement does most of it. I was antiquing with my sister the other day and we happened upon several giant shells like this. We thought they were kind of icky. It's one of those things were you need to just suspend brain activity while you look at it.
I grew up in Europe and Lake Forest, Illinois. After graduating from The Ferry Hall School, Bryn Mawr College, and George Washington University Law School, I practiced law in Washington, D.C. Now I am finally devoting my time to two of my great passions - interior design and Chinoiserie.

Dear Pink,
Love your blog! You are too funny, I never thought of a giant clam shell in that way before.
