One Room Challenge: The Reveal

Reveal day is here!  For those who have missed the past six weeks of the One Room Challenge, Linda of My Crafty Home Life invited twenty interior designers and bloggers to transform a room of our choice in six weeks, with weekly posts on our progress. I chose my kitchen for four reasons:

First, I thought it unlikely that anyone else would choose the kitchen, so mine would be unique, and I was right.

Second, I loved the bones of my kitchen and just wanted to add designer touches, so I knew I could easily accomplish it in six weeks.

Third, I have had many requests from followers of Chinoiserie Chic to show more on using Chinoiserie in kitchens.

Fourth, I wanted to do some unique and unexpected things that I have rarely seen in a kitchen  -
*pink
*a gallery wall
*great art
*high end Chinoiserie fabrics
*a glam crystal chandelier
*and of course, lots of Chinoiserie.

Please click on the ORC button in my sidebar to see the before photos of my kitchen and all of my update posts. Thanks so much to Linda of My Crafty Home Life for inviting me to participate. I had a wonderful time and I would love to be invited to do this again. I have another room in my house that would be perfect for the next challenge.

So here is my girly, glamorous, fun, chic, Palm Beach, pink and green, Lilly Pulitzer Chinoiserie kitchen. It includes blanc de Chine, ginger jars, pagodas, Chinese Chippendale, blue and white Chinese porcelain, monkeys, elephants - it has it all! An added bonus was that I was motivated to clean out and organize all the drawers and cabinets in my kitchen. Enjoy this gallery of my Chinoiserie Chic kitchen makeover and be sure to check out how the other participants made out with their room challenges.

WOW!!! JUST WOW!!! I love every inch of it! You must be in "hog heaven" as we say in the South!! It is all so good I an giddy for you!! Now to see if I can locate a couple of items for my own kitchen that you have made a part of yours. Sadly, that light fixture that I thought would be so fabulous in my own kitchen will hang down too low for us to use it! I have a low ceiling in mine, darn it! Now I need to go back and look some more! Congrats on an AMAZING transformation!
